Heated Glass Technology

IQ Radiant Heating Glass is a tempered piece of glass with an invisible metal coating. The resistive qualities of the coating creates radiant heat when a controlled electric current is applied to the conductive coating. The electric current in the resistive coating generates radiant energy which warms the glass until the glass radiates heat in the infrared range. The radiant heat does not directly heat the air. Radiant heating glass heats the objects and people in the room and has an efficiency at least 25% greater than forced hot air systems.

Radiant Glass Windows Systems and their ability to increase R-value making a near perfect thermal break and provide a source of infrared heat

Woodwindows.com and ArcClad Technology are pleased to sponsor an important new course on the principles of Radiant Heat Technology: Transforming Windows Into Heating and Energy Saving Assets

We all recognize the importance of windows in the design, security, aesthetics and function of a new building  and in the rehabilitation or adaptive reuse of an existing building.  Windows define a building.  Windows and doors  have the extraordinary feature in they are simultaneously installed inside and outside of the building in the same location.

The major element of a window, glass, a material that by itself has very little natural  insulating qualities. We are going to discover how to radically improve the performance of a window by using a Radiant Glass Window System.

The use of a Radiant Glass Window System eases the limitations of size, placement and  the number of windows.  Conventional windows come into conflict with the economic and social goals of conserving and limiting the energy demands of buildings. Radiant Window Systems help achieve those goals.

Internal mechanical heating and ventilation requirements are dictated by the selection, use and placement of conventional windows and affect interior architectural design and furniture placement.

We will demonstrate how you can expand your design innovations with the understanding and use of radiant window technology.

To that end we are inviting architects to take our sponsored AIA course:
